Hi,

For me it conveys a walk home after a long day. For 30 years that I worked, the work place never was close enough to walk home.

Fantastic colors too.:)

A calm, contemplative painting, Coops......very easy on the eyes and one that opens the doors of the imagination...

Katie, I love this. Compassionate is what comes to my mind, and seems to bring a sense of resolve as this person is walking home.

What immediately came to my mind was the book, The Road. Desolate, bleak, and somehow still a feeling of hope.

Lovely painting. Warm...a bit lonely...somewhat surreal and dreamlike; thought-provoking.
Very nice, Coops.

Beautiful! This is very thought provoking Katie! The colors are warm but the composition is lonely. It feels spiritual by nature to me. The long walk home could be a symbol of the walk we will all take when our time comes to go home for good! Wonderful painting Kaite!

Thanks so much Alexandra, Skylar, JB and Sketch for your lovely comments. Perhaps it look lonely as I thought I might have to walk home last night lol but it would have been in the cold.:)

I like this,
it is open to so many interpretations
Really wonderful mood

It might be a great learning exercise to allow multiple user recreations of this piece on the forum (if you were agreeable)???.
It would be interesting to learn this technique and to compare style etc

This was a surprise, and an excellent one, Love the color, the technique and the drama of the whole thing. I don't know how you can do this with a mouse!

Katie, the scene, in principle, seems strong and dramatic. However when looking at the person walking in a calm and confident manner, we understand the freedom of artistic composition. It seems to be one of those fantastic moment in which the artist captures the fleeting light of that happy moment back home. Great painting.

Fantastic coops, all the imagination is for the spectator's account.

Girl, what has set your imagination on fire? I stay off the forum for a few hours and our modest portrayer of poseys unleashes a magnificent stunner like THIS! If I was your shrink, I'd say you just made a major breakthrough. Outstanding work, Coops.

Well, this really resonated across the board. So much interpretive and introspective commentary.
Your sky technique really is quite remarkable in this and it's been a treat to watch it develop over the course of your landscape explorations. Not that it was ever less than remarkable. I don't know if it's coming naturally to you but it looks very accomplished, confident, and professional. :)
