OK, By now you must know that I paint whatever grabs my attention at the moment. Well, in the last few days, movies have been the "Shiny Object" of my attention. It was Twilight, now it is Avatar, which I've only seen promos, but it set my thoughts towards "avatars" in general. Here is one that is sort of a cross between Paris Opera & Cirque du soliel. This was a whole bunch of fun, and I'm probably gonna do more of this type of fantasy - I've been too rooted in the mundane, if you know what I mean! This was started with a rough sketch, then Oil, then finished in Airbrush - My current Tool Of Choice.

Those eyes!! Mmmm. those lips! Yikes!! This woman is going to be a lot of trouble for someone! She is captivating, I find it hard to look away from her--excellent work on this! She casts a spell.

I posted this right after finishing it last night - I was anxious for feed-back, since this is so different from what I had posted in the past. What is happening, is that I am exploring content as well as style, as I get more adept with the software. The last few pieces have been heavily air-brushed in detail. I find I am adapting old-school knowledge of real airbrushing, and assimilating it into the program version. This is really satisfying. So many things are re-awakening!

Let me just say that this is the stuff of dreams for all the teen boys that I see at the library where I work who are growing up reading this latest crop of vampire and gothic novels.....
She's exquisitely beautiful and dangerous-looking.....

Stunning work...simply gorgeous (in a "I want her but she scares the 'expletive deleted' out of me). I really enjoy and admire your style here and in other works. Beautifully done.

Foxy, jbyr - thank you both so much. I also had the thought of that Android from Blade Runner - She always had that black mask painted on - this figure's eye shadow is almost a mask.
