View Full Version : Lotus Pond

I spent a lot of time on trying to paint in ArtRage. This is the lotus pond that took me over a week, nor so satisfied though. The black koi looks a bit too much like a cat fish!!! Had a lot of problem using the knife (just a few problems adjusting type and pressure.

Any comment is very welcome, thanks.

I think this came out as a really strong piece. The composition is great and when you step back from the monitor a bit the whole thing pops really nicely. :):)
I don't think any artist is ever 100% satisfied with their work.... if they were... what would be left to learn ?

I don't see so much wrong with the painting. It works just fine for me. It's the lotus flowers that jump out at you when you first see it any way, so even if you think the koi looks like a catfish, it's just one part of the whole.

I've tried a few times over the last few months since I started using ArtRage to paint my koi, and they always look more like a parrot, so I'd be happy with catfish. When I try to save it, the computer says it won't even bother trying, 'cause I'm just gonna delete it anyway.

This really makes me smile. Colorful, bright, cheerful. Thanks for creating something so pleasant to look at!!! I have red and lavender blossoms in my pond - I love them.

Beautiful and ever so colorful, Jasminek! You've done a great job! I found the blending to be especially challenging myself and I know quite a few others have too. It simply just takes practice and practice to get the "touch" you personally like. I found the wet blender (AR3) is really nice but I keep the knife small because I usually want a very soft blend without too much blurring.
