This was one of the first portraits I tried when I got 2.5. (This is my nephew, who is aspiring to be a fitness model & trainer.) The first ry was quite clumsy - I was still figuring out how to apply "paint" in the right density and brush sizes. There are actually 4 versions, but I can't find the next-to-last version. I think it is archived on my external drive. Anyway. This is a series that ended up with the last image Finished in 3.0

I really like when people are actually posting the “steps/evolution” of their project. It gives us a small glimpse of the progression and technique use to create the artwork. Well done...

This is great SKB - the stand up and take notice type. Yes, the eyes have it - the whole expression is a magnificent capture.
Agree re: posting the steps. It is so instructive and helpful even without elaboration. :):)

Looks good. Can I ask how you achieved the smooth look in the final picture?

I let this one slip by without thanking everyone for the WONDERFUL comments. So here I say thank you all so much.
Omni - The smooth skin was achieved using the airbrush tool. Primarily, the slow flow setting adjusted in diff size outputs.

My granddaughter peeked over my shoulder and asked, "Who's the stud-muffin?" I think that was a vote of approval.

Doc, Mannafig - Thanks, I'll pass the comments along, tho he is already full of himself. In School and college, he was very stocky, played football, and such. Now he has Discovered that he is Good Looking!

Ohhhhh....I feel so blessed to find this site. This portrait is better than some photos... incredible.

:confused:I also feel that I may accomplish a portrait in about 5 years.

Wonderful job!!!!

Eileen, Jas - Thank you for the compliments. It seems I'm getting the hang of the Airbrush tool. Back in the 70's, I did a lot of traditional airbrush works - a lot of images for a little postcard co. named Paper Moon - they got swallowed up by Hallmark.
