Hi! I am sketchism's son. This is my first post & first still life ever.

(Hi from sketchism71 - My son did a still life study on my Starbucks coffee mug today and I am very proud of it! He wanted to make his own gallery here for future artwork... Thanks for checking it out! He is very excited about it. He just turned 7.)

And meanwhile, by the way, you've got a great dad - he's a great guy and he paints really beautiful pictures. :):):):)

And your avatar is super. It made me laugh. :)

What a wonderful still life, SketchJr!!! You did a fantastic job that's for sure! I remember my dad helping and encouraging me to draw when I was your age. You're definitely following in your dad's footsteps and are going to be one very talented artist. I only wished that one of my three grown sons would have gotten the artist bug but none of them did. I have only one nephew, that like me, likes to draw. He's grown and loves skateboarding and therefore, draws and colors images directly on t-shirts with permanent markers and sells them to other skateboarders! What a neat way to make a living!!!

I was excited for my second art lesson. I drew a picture of a trout because I wanted to catch one. I learned how to fill the whole thing up with the darkest color in the picture. Then add a little lighter color to it.

01-12-2010, 04:35 PM
Wow Sketch Jr., this is very impressive. The colors are very nice and that trout is a beauty. You've inherited your fathers grand talents. You did a very good job painting this picture. I'm very happy you posted it so we could see it. :):) And I hope that you will post many more. :):):)
