This took minutes to paint, watercolor brush and stickers.. more to come...

Im trying to do representations of English watercolours, you will find that white patches of paper will be left showing through the painting. (stonehenge is a good example)

Thank you Irishrose the frames other than the first one I did are done using photoshop, I like white borders around paintings, reminds me of the card that you put into a frame :) I was having a few problems editing and pasting the images in photoshop not sure why, in the end I just did a screengrab in the photoshop stage area, which doesnt look too bad.

I sent you a PM

Done entirely with pencil, watercolours and gloop for textures.

I dont know what it is, but I find it easier than regular sized paintings, although this one took me longer to do. I can be impatient and rush my work, by working smaller I get them finished quicker :D

Sizes are roughly 400x200px I use the rectange selection tool and paint inside it, I just do it by eye really for the size I want. :D

How do you find out the DPI? senior moment lol?

Ive never heard of ACEO until you mentioned it :)

01-03-2010, 01:40 PM
This is very lovely and looking traditional water color.... love theese simple paintings.

01-03-2010, 10:33 PM
thanks atta :)

All I know is that the DPI (Dots per inch) are usually set at 72, but if you want it to print out clearly, you set the DPI to 200 or 300.

Also, ACEO's are on my website and if you do a google search, they are EVERYWHERE!!!! Ebay is the hub of all the selling, as well as illustratedatcs.com. :) Many people do them... I'm a project leader over on WetCanvas and doing minis right now :) Our themes are fall/winter and pieces of whatever :)

Oh yes I get ya...doh...very senior moment, I was tired lol.

Yes I use 300 sometimes 600 DPI for my artwork.

Sounds intruiging, I may have to look into this more.

thank you byron :)

Pai thank you very much :D

quick sketchy watercolour, I started with the dryed strokes brush and built up the layers as you would in a traditional watercolour. Harsh lines brush for the darker details. :)

Wow, Jules, they keep getting better and better. This could be a picture postcard!

thanks, not totally happy with it, more practice me thinks :o

thanks again irishrose, its nice to just have a play not knowing how the paint will behave, are you going to do some miniatures using AR3?

01-08-2010, 09:47 AM
I see, I read about what you do, sounds interesting, although it seems to be just for traditional art swaps.

01-08-2010, 09:52 AM

Jules these are wonderful paintings. I love each and every one of them:)

01-30-2010, 10:24 AM
they are lovely and the borders look great , I'm like Rose and do digital ATCs also I paint mine at a canvas size of 3.5 x 2.5 or v/v and at 72 dpi so that I'm painting at the same size as if I was doing them on paper. and they print out great.:D

01-30-2010, 11:20 AM
thanks every folks :o:D

Gorgeous little wc works. Love all of them.

01-30-2010, 12:44 PM
I'm actually liking the last few well, as I think it represents what watercolor is. When I was doing watercolors I can recall loading the entire canvas with water and then using the water colors, where the color did a lot of bleeding. I think those last two/three really represent watercolor. Nice job.
