Feedback? Be honest, please. I'm trying to improve my technique. This took me around an hour and half to do. Thanks!

I like the palette color and the expression of the face,
also I like the free style than the only critic that I can do is
that it would be sad if you don't continue that way :)
Welcome and Happy New Year , Omnimaxus !

Thanks! Appreciate the kudos from all of you. But honestly, does it look like a "professional" job, or does it look a mite amateurish? I'm trying to get a gauge on how my style looks to others. Bold? Assured? Great; that's good to know, but how else can I possibly improve on my technique? I'm always looking to improve my oil painting skills ...

Great colors and style! Try posting this in the Critique section here in the AR forum. You may get more help on the advice you are looking for. Great job on this!

Thanks! Am glad with the progress I've made since then with my painting skills. At the moment, it seems as if though I've hit a bottleneck in the way of making concrete progress towards a style all my own, but on the other hand, my latest painting represents a definite step up from the previous landscape painting I did (of the trail with the mountains in the background) as far as scope and detail go, so that in itself is progress. Not complaining. Guess it'll take time. Just have to keep plugging away. (Have attached my two landscape paintings for comparison; the first one was my first attempt, and the second is my latest painting.)

This is by far the best piece you have done. Years ago, one of my instructors said, "The technical skills will come with work. First learn to see, then learn to relax and let the image fall from your hand." Took me years to understand what he meant. Relax and let it happen.
