Gorilla was painted from reference photo, used crayons ( thanks Sketchism that works nicely). The rest of it happened after seeing a movie about Picasso last night. No idea how it all came about.
Its a complicated thing for the animals out there, trying to live in our digital world. I guess thats what this is about.
Happy New Year!

Wow, amazing. A color cast glaring, beautiful image. Great title.

Rob - terrific. It unfolded beautifully. I hope people will blow it up to see the larger size - it comes much better into focus, especially a sense of dismay and overwhelm along with wonder in the magnificent creatures expression, an expression I think you captured in every hair. The world you created enveloping him is marvelous. It's a full blown story that maps hand and glove with your title. Well done I think. You're turning out such marvelous and inventive work these days. :):):)

AND Happy New Year.

Thanks Evert, Byron and Oriane!--this was supposed to be a part of the "Story of the old man and the yellow bird' story, but I could not get it to co-operate!
Gorillas are independent minded ( and fair to middling artists by the way).
Originally, there was an Analog clock in one layer, and I took it out, but the name stuck. Nothing really analog about a Gorilla I suppose--poetic license, but seemed better than "Organic Gorilla in a Digital World", which sounds like something from Whole Foods!

LOL Rob.

I do hope you'll keep at the book. One step at at time - it will all come together. :):):)
