Since a few of you have asked for a tutorial from me, I dug out this quick piece from few weeks ago, to use as an example.

First off, the Photoshop basis, with a stock photo of a B52 aircraft, and a background image which I created by combining and colour-correcting 3 separate photos.

...next, the photoshop document was imported into ArtRage.
The sky was very grainy, so first this was overpainted with a flat colour...

...next, working on a new layer, I began painting, to integrate the aircraft into the environent...

...and finally back into Photoshop, to colour-correct the final image, and add a few final details....

total time for this was about 90 minutes.

Hope this is of interest to some of you:)

Brilliant digital craftsmanship married to artistic vision. Great work and terrific tutorial. I like tutorials that deliver the goods "a picture says a thousand worlds". You communicate a lot quickly here - wonderfully instructive. :)

This shows the perfect marriage of two (in my opinion) of the best programs available to any artist, anywhere! The sky is the limit to what can be created. I must also say however, programs are just programs until they are in the hands of an extremely talented visionary artist like yourself. This is exceptional work. Thank you for taking the time to show the tutorial to this and reminding me that I have SO much more to learn about digital art!:)
