Looks like an oil painting for sure, one of those paintings that make people shocked to find it done on a computer. Awesome work!

Thanks Rob - I have been a Traditional painter for years. I have only gotten into computer art in the last year, so most of my work still has all the earmarks of my past works. I'm expanding, tho - sometimes I even do layers (But not in this one)

Thank you Valerie. This is one of a series I am doing to try to look as much like a Traditional (Even classic) landscape as possible.

Brown, very beautiful this painting. The different shades of color fleeting, when skillfully portrayed in a painting, reveals the beauty of that unique moment that you want to perpetuate. Wow, congratulations.

DigiVis (Sounds like a Roman Senator!) Thanks so much! I have 30+ yrs of painting and creating. After that much time, anyone would be pretty good.

Skylar,
Just because someone has 30 + years of experience does not mean the work is good. One must have a certain artist feel for the work for it to be "good".

Lot of people paint for 30 years and never improve.
This is a great painting!! If I could only do so well.
Be interesting to see some of your work from 30 years ago.

CarlCath- Thank you so much for the compliments. Yes, 30 years of painting doesn't guarantee an improvement in style, but it can certainly clarify what one has developed. I've never been satisfied, and I pick my works apart after I finish. OK, maybe I present a bit of modesty, but that comes from that self-critique process I have. I'm happy when I get within 90% of what I had envisioned. Confession time - the first painting I did at University was bought by one of my art instructors, so there was a kernel of something even back then - how's that for Not being Modest?! I still say everyone will improve, and keep improving as long as one keeps striving for that little bit more everytime a piece is created. I'm still in that process, and probably always will be. Thanks again for your thoughts and observations.
