It's the Solstice tomorrow so here is the Winter Queen, Queen Mab.

Oh my goodness Neil, so completely beautiful and dead on appropriate for the Solstice. A pagan at heart (sorta) I think of the Winter Solstice as sort of THE day of the season. There could not be a more appropriate and fully realized expression of it than this lovely work. Gorgeous. :):):):):):)

This is such a perfect expression of that idea, Fraser.

I always saw Queen Mab as a peroxide blond.

Great work. You assemble and paint some of the most interesting communications! Really intriguing. Great technique too. :):):):):)

What a beautiful way to celebrate this astronomical event, Fraser! I just love all the blue hues in this fantasy painting. Well done!

I looked for this, knowing that you'd probably post something for the solstice, and I missed it altogether. I'm so glad that it was bumped up! Like Byron said, I too think of it as THE day.......your painting honors it well.
