Outstanding!!!! I did a traditional oil of my grandniece when she was 2 (couldn't resist because she was so cute- like your niece) and her parents still have it hanging in their home. She's 15 now.

Fantastic work.
Perhaps some brief notes on how done?

Judith - Thanks, perhaps this will do the same.
Ice- First, this is 2.5, dona about a month ago. It was the first of several I did as presents for the family. As it shows, I was still using small hesitant strokes, as I didn't figure out blending until right after this one. I paint everything from scratch, usually with ref photos. Believe it or not, this photo was taken by my sister. there were tacky little flowers on her dress, and she was holding an artificial daisy - I chose to ratchet back on the sappiness, but I loved her face. My settings were about 30% load, 30% thinning, and 100% pressure. I build my own color samples (Taken from the photo. I created the skin colors (Sampled from her dad's) as Naveed is quite pale.

Precious indeed. It's really a great expression you captured. I like the eyes looking up. Of course I probably would have liked the little flowers on the dress and the daisy too. :)

Skylar, this is just so precious! You've captured her sweetness and innocence so incredibly well! It's so much so, that your lack of blending does not detour from it. I just see it as a special brush stroke style that you've captured into the painting.

That's so sweet! Master piece!:)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU ALL!!!! I posted this late last night, because I feel I have been hogging the site a little. I was going to wait 'til today to post her, so now I will post her cousin, if that OK?!

Congratulations for Your wonderful portrait and for Your wonderful niece, dear mate!
It's stunning how You were able to transpose on AR the feeling of acrylics I read You're a master of (and I wish I could use better, since they get dry too fast according to my past approaches).
