These are some tries, to see if AR3 could do some basic Photoshopping...OK, let's call it RAGING ! I raged these together as proof that it could be done, mind you, not every picture is finished There are W.I.P.'s amongst them, still it is to show off the capabilities.

This program will knock your socks off !!

Ha..ha. Like your title. It's great to see you again, Hanzz and finally see your awesome caricatures paintings from AR3. Wow, Morgan Freeman and The Pope look so realistic. Also interesting to see how you work on those photos, hope you can posted the finished versions later.

About the Photo-Raging pictures...it is my intention to make them step by step pictures. I only have to work out different themes, because some are built on existing pictures.

Hanzz- I'm left grinning from ear to ear when I peruse your collection. Your caricature images are crazy good. I love how you went right into the new tools with them and expanded into your other experiments. There is so much more we can do now without having to leave AR Studio and you've shown that very nicely. AR3 in the hands of Hanzz!!! :D:D:D

hanzz
12-03-2009, 06:04 AM
LOL, Thanks Fashmir.

to make you guys all amazed...
Like there are stickers to paste everywhere, one can also create stickers to PAINT !
Examples up to now are best known as the fashmir fur stickers.

The Morgan freeman picture in this thread is ENTIRELY done with stickers ! It is easily created, and lot's of fun !

Paint like you do in real life...here is the start of the painting...

Hanzz, thanks for showing the Morgan Freeman sketch and the happiest thing is you said was made with the new sticker tool. Those brush strokes, to me, look exactly like Painter strokes I saw in some members' paintings. I LOVE those brush strokes !!! :D

hanzz
12-04-2009, 04:56 PM
Dear Pai, it was a 'brushtip' I designed out of multiple bitmaps, to make it as natural as possible , and it will be included in the new AR3.
Other testers made some too.
;)My guess is you'll love this from the first stroke.;)

Juice: The sticker tool has possibilties we don't even know yet. We scratched the surface...

Irishrose: No need to drool, go for it ,and surprise yourself.

gzairborne: Thanks man, The letters and the background could heve been coloured too...that would have really been something....

Dmerchen: I am working on tutorials as we speak. You know yet what you'll ask santa to give you ? I haven't got a clue yet...Maybe nice warm socks?

Pai : Say goodbye to long nights, you'll be burning the midnight oil soon ! This ArtRage 3 is soo addictive. I cannot use Painter anymore. Just doesn't feels right. AR3 is soo easy and such fun to use.....

Ann Timmy: Feel free to loose the words so self-assured. I'm happy to find at least some people like my hasty scribbles ;):D

Bobby: The day is coming soon. When the wait is over, you will have a blast. Make sure to show me some of your afforts.

dear Hanzz, I find it very interesting to use stickers like Photoshop brushes, just as you did on numerous caricatures lately. But I have to ask something I'm very curious of: can you set stickers to blend color like a painter tool? I would say no. But I hope I think wrong. :)

can you set stickers to blend color like a painter tool? I would say no. But I hope I think wrong

In these examples I made a brushtip that is able to mimic this. You can paint very transparent for the colors to blend.
And there is always the blending-knife to do blending too, but I never used that tool in my paintings.

Hanzz, you were STALKING me on WetCanvas today. Naughty boy!
Am I noddy or not héhéhéh...

I was looking at the digital part of the forum to see if it was any use to spread the word about ArtRage ....... Not..... I made a post with a painting of mine, few looked at it, few browse the forum. Looks like the real life type of art is the only art over there.....
Maybe I'll look for another one.....

That is the most Baby Jane pick of her that I ever care to see. She has Betty Davis eyes. She scared the holy bejeezus out of me when I was about 10 yo in Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte. . . which I didn't know was a comedy until I saw it at 40 or so. The thought of the movie held me in terror all those years. Slept with the light on for 30 long years.

Hahaha. Brilliant Hanzz!!!!!!!

In fairness though, she was very pretty once. (My therapist told me to re-frame that experience. She was attractive. . . she was nice. . .she was sweet. . .she was attractive. . .she was nice. . .)

All the tools I used are at your hands, so go for it and give it a try.
The stickers I used for the hair, are in the 'hair and fur' section of the sticker tool. The airbrush was used for all other parts. The background layer blurred once.

This drawing, and a bunch of others, would be used (if all goes well) in a new restaurant in Portugal. :)

Something completely different now.

This is a bit hard for me.

My dad passed away ,and yesterday was the funeral. I had the honour of drawing the cover of the guide for the funeral myself in ArtRage 3. I could do something with what I'm best at...drawing with ArtRage.

My dad was a man of the nature, his garden with vegetables, flowers, fruits, walks in the forest......and we (my brother, 2 sisters, and mom) decided to let this be a red line throughout the funeral service. So I took a picture of the apple blossoms that start too bud now. I kept it small and drew up the rest of the drawing, which served in turn for the start of text on the small booklet.

My sisters are wizards with words, and together we we made it work. And it worked ! It touched everyone in the service.

I'm really not sure if I should even be posting this, so in the coming days, it's possible that I will remove the picture, and this post....

I'm with Albert considering that, notwithstanding the usual perfection of all Your caricatures (Arno is another absolute jewel here), Your treatment of Juliette Binoche maybe doesn't match the imaginary vision most of us generally have of her, a lady full of a considerable, though discrete, charm ... :D

WOW Hanz I'm always impressed about the works you made

Tiegem is only bike-distance ! We can meet sometimes.... I'll contact you when I have a commission in the region.

About the Binoche -caricature, it was done for a forum of caricaturists-only, so the exaggerations wont be those I usually give you all...Just trying to push the envelope, and improving.
About the Arno, I don't like it one bit (though I was happy when just done...)But I learned a whole lot from this exercise !!!! that was the main goal. So I am happy after all...Just not on the likeness.

screenpainter
11-06-2010, 07:02 PM
the hair on Arno is just excellent again. and the skin is beautifully luminous and real looking. great! I love the background texture. any hints for me on the texture...is it a sticker used?

I keep forgetting to take notes... I even left myself a note to not forget to take notes. I must have lost it though... dang it... I keep forgetting. I have spent a bunch of time tracking down a sticker a couple of times. Mimosa was hard little bugger to find. :) And finding stickers can be a major headache. I must leave myself a note about reorganizing my stickers. I think I may have those grunge stickers by Andrea. Now where the heck did I put those. :)

Thank You also for Your last brush settings information! I've never been able to make a good one I could use by patches. The overlapping aways gives an unduly stronger tone ...

NOTE. Your new brush seems to be a bitmap that, when captured, presents a black background rather than a transparent one ...
