View Full Version : Thinking

It's my first time using color pencils, so I beg you for some critique (in using tools and of course - drawing :) )

Based on a photo - but only as a refference ;)

This is excellent. Love the colored pencil look and the looseness of the drawing !

You are so good at these and how I wish I could see what she is thinking. I think it is excellent.

I forgot to mention that I used color pallette from tutorial posted by Misterpaint^__^

Thats one of my favorites here so far,

07-13-2009, 06:03 PM
You've made a beautiful drawing. :)

This is a wonderful work of art - you should feel very proud. It makes me want to use the pencil tool more -I work in real life colour pencil a lot but get much too anal in going for realism. Your loose and sketchy style speaks to me so much more. :)

07-15-2009, 07:03 AM
thank you all! It makes me want to draw more!^________^

07-19-2009, 06:01 AM
I do not think you have any problems with the tools use from what I see here. The artwork is excellent as is. What can I say?.... great artwork!

07-20-2009, 05:35 AM
Great! I like it !!!!

07-21-2009, 03:39 AM
Bobbyray - thanks, but my using of tools is still on a stage - I don't know how it will look like after finishing it :P

wonder-w - thank you^^

07-21-2009, 04:58 AM
I do understand....the tools are difficult to control, I am thankful for the undo menu and I use it a lot as I experiment. A tip someone gave me is to set it going in the direction you want then use it. That helps a lot. I have gotten used to it more now and am now somewhat overcoming the tools control problem. The tool size is another helpful element as is enlarging the artwork for detail work. Well, I do not know if this helps you any but keep experimenting.....it helps. A lot of it is just getting used to the tools actions. good luck......:)

In addition to being very well done, it appears to be a self-portrait and would make a fantastic avatar. :)

08-04-2009, 05:19 PM
Bobbyray - thanks for the tips^^
RobertSWade - thanks, but it's not a self portrait ;P I'm not that beautiful ;P

wow! great work. Its gritty and has an edge which is my favorite. Love the line quality. although when you dip into crosshatch those lines could follow more of the form. only critique... other than that good job!

12-14-2009, 10:25 AM
thank you Alexandra and Sammy, and sorry for late reply^^''''
I'll try to make a solid from lines next time, Sammy, as you suggested

How do you manage to re create real life feeling on your drawings?.....hope the question itīs formulated correctly.

Other than that itīs just beautiful and peaceful to look at.

thank you all^^
I understand you, but I don't know how to answer on this question. Maybe it's like that because I want to make it more realistic and natural, and I use tablet as pencil, and I don't think about used media...I'm not sure if it's a correct answer, sorry...^^'

12-15-2009, 11:37 AM
Actually you said it perfectly....forget about digital media and just DRAW.

Deep....and truthful.

Keep up the great work:):)
