Ok, since fraser_paice put up the conan yesterday, i've been back at my conan tribute..
here's the WIP...
as usual I've ended up biting more than I can chew in one bit (lol).
I decided to keep two light sources, one, a fire light from bottom right and two, moon light from above and behind the left shoulder..
am still struggling with the skin tones on Conan. Did only basic blocking of the girl and haven't touched the ape yet.

After I figure out all the colors I've to still figure out how Frazetta would approach something like this..

BTW, this is the 5th version of the same I'm trying..i've scrapped the earlier four.. LOL
This time I'm doing the basic colors in paintools SAI and blending them before getting it to artrage for detailing.. (large scale blending is so easy in SAI)
so this is from a psd in SAI..

P.S. Conan is probably only 'hero' I know would not be uncomfortable fighting in the nude!

any suggestions, crits, advice and comments are most welcome..

Hi flyashy, got to say you and fraser_paice are giving me Conan envy!:D
Great start, good composition.Like your lighting setup, should work well.:)
His skintone looks good so far.
Not much to crit at this stage,Conan's chest would be a bit flatter/stretched out in that pose, his pecs look a little full right now.
Hope that is helpful?
Looking forward to your updates.:cool::)

I was trying to sort of exaggerate his muscles but i guess you're right.
This one's going to take a while..but I'll keep posting update as I manage to work on it..
Thanks for the comments, appreciate it :)

I like very much the combination and contrast of the colors.

Thanks Orianelima,
I hope I can maintain the colors and the contrast..I tend to over blend usually..
