Hi Rick, this is another excellent piece I most like from yours. Besides how well you did the wood textures on the mug and the smooth smoking pipe, I really love the newspaper. This one is so good to keep looking at it. :)

Dear Rick, me thinks you are a Dutch gentleman, ( actually looked it up:o), but your paintings do remind me of that, hope your pocket book is as rich as your works,,, beautiful!:)

Byron, thank you.. I would hate to admit how many hours are in the newspaper.. Thanks for the nice comment..

I can thoroughly appreciate the hours it took to create that newspaper. Your dedication to gettng it right is refected in all of your paintings. I admire your craftmanship and the superb artistry of your paintings. You're darn good. I know you already know this, but I'll say the obvious anyway: time is not relevant, it's the result that counts. You sure get knock-out results. :D

Gawd almighty, Rick!

Beyond doubt your very best!!! And one that ranks right in there with all trompe l'oil paintings.

Bravo you!!!!!!! I love what mug especially the handle. Talk about a masterful highlight. Really describes the surface and pulls all that active texture into a fine ceramic gloss.

Nice work indeed.

Absolutely striking! A country gentleman's pleasure to be sure. The
palette is warm, earthy and rich and I could swear that I can almost
smell the fragrant aroma of a fine tobacco. So well painted! :)
