There was some earlier discussion in a recent post of yours about the pros and cons of mixing thick paint with letting the canvas show through. It's now my opinion that ... if you feel comfortable with this style ... then you should absolutely go that direction and call it your own. Personally, I think it's fantastic!

Canvas may shown if you use drybrush, all effects are drybrush effects, so canvas shown. (I used pastels to give a drybrush effect). That canvas is "Hatching", an ArtRage preset, my favorite canvas, dear Robert. Thank you again for your comments.

The correct term for this style is impasto painting.
