Hello dear friends .
This is my latest painting, I decided to draw this subject because it attracted me as it's far from the regular light settings ( sun , moon , lamps .. etc) .
I refrenced it from a small photo I found on the internet.
Done & finishet with ArtRage only,1 layer only , I used oil brush, knife palette and pencil & chulk as little as possible.
I had to do it on a very high resloution to be able to zoom in to make high details , but I couldn't post it here due to the attachment restrictions.
Hope you like it and waiting your comments ;)

Wow! Look at the subtlety.

It reminds me of holding a leaf up to a light from behind, where the veins are visible. And yet you are really getting great depth of field.

What an amazing level of detail.

I would love to be walking down that road at this time. It's very inviting.

Great work!!!

Dear Nabil, just so beautiful, it will be like that around here in a few weeks, all the leaves will be gone, only the pine trees stay green, foggy mist is often,,, wonderful painting!!!:)

10-18-2008, 05:51 AM
Nabil, your detail is superb. The painting is so inviting that I would love to step through the screen to take a stroll along the lane. It is very serene.

10-18-2008, 05:59 AM
Beautiful image, beautiful depth. Your painting reminds me that I should get out into nature today.

10-18-2008, 08:06 AM
Brilliantly done! Love the details and the hazy quality. You can almost "feel" the atmosphere and the silence. Wonderful!

Hi Nabil,
Really beautiful painting Nabil, you are very talented, it looks so real, it must of took you a long time drawing all them trees.
One to frame and put over the mantlepiece.

10-18-2008, 08:39 AM
beautiful mood...:). did u change the colors and composition or is this exactly like the reference u used?

im really enjoying looking at it.

10-18-2008, 09:07 AM
great piece and expanding nicely on your other pieces! I'ts nice to see this change in direction:)

10-18-2008, 10:27 AM
This place is a real and fantasy one at the same time. You never miss a strike, dear Nabil!

10-18-2008, 10:57 AM
That's really great Nabil. Like D Akey said it's depth of field is fantastic. The fog really seems to disappear towards the viewer. I really like how you used the contrast of the silhouettes to get this work. Has some magic flair.

10-18-2008, 01:53 PM
WOW, that is one excellent painting..The detail and depth are amazing....!!

Dear Waheednasir Thanks for appriciation .
As for the answer to your question about colors and composition , I took the subject it self from the refrence exatly as it was with some changes to get better details , as for colouring I tried to capture the same atmosphere from the refrence thus I used the same colour with some small changes due to mixing of colours and the usege of the pallete knife. also it was on 1 layer and I didn't use any effects from another program ( adobe photoshope & corel draw) . although in my architectural firm I use these programs in addition to 3Ds MAX .
I don't use any photoshop program in my digitle paintings beacuse I try as much as I can to feel as if I'm painting on a real canvas .
I have been doing oil paintings for 45 years, I never thought that one day I'll be doing digitle painting instead of real oil paintings, now at the age of 59, I found that ArtRage (which I only knew 40 days ago) makes it easier for me to paint , due to being busy...etc .

Thank you dear Nika for your beautiful words .

Dear Nabil,

I was glad to here that you are in the painting slavery(I am joking:))from 40 years, it's a life time!
It was my fault, I was too laisie to get back to the previouse page and see if Dali did replie to your thread, As you do I do the same and almost evryone in here, unser in the order of the replies, sorry..

Well thank you to appreciate my comments, I felt that you need details on what I can see but any way,
as you do , I enjoy painting in Art Rage;
for me the most important thing is not only the lack of space to do what I ever want to paint in real media but also
the fact that I am a meticulouse , slow person and the ArtRage program help me a lot to be more spedee, to do more paintings, to gain a lot of time,
I am very glad with it. I like also Painter but tis is a very intuitif program with a ready to go for paint first view.

Well, i don't do comments ina very organised manner, some time I only have the time to look at the paintings.
Good work and keep going.:)

Dear Nabil Saleh,
Exceptionally beautiful!
The dimensional atmosphere is amazing and the scene is so
warm and inviting. You have artfully captured a woodland
retreat in all of it's serene beauty. :)

10-20-2008, 02:50 PM
Excellent piece again, Nabil. Love the mood it conveys. It not easy to create that foggy look with right lighting and color value. Beautiful painting. :)

It is so realistic that I thought it was a photo !

The light entering on the forest has a marvellous touch of sensibility. As others asked, how do you manage to do the atmosphere?
