Great sunset. I love how the rose blends into the blue in the sky.

What caught my eye in this one was the way the texture at the top where the paint remains thick seems to imply clouds. I think the metallics you used look great too, they give it a sheen that looks good with the blend of colours in the sky.

Thank you all for your much appreciated comments. The metallics are great. 8)
I have started my first real-life painting ever on a canvas with Acrylics and even a bit of glitter - it is also a sunset - maybe I'll post a pic of my progress so far.

Lovely, I just adore the metallics!

Love the color and texture. A beauty approaching monet-like impression. :D

I've been intentionally remiss in weighing in on this one because I really felt the need to marshall my thoughts. That said, I'm still somewhat at a loss to convey the impact this has for me. I think that that's because it's, at once, deceptively simple and subtly elegant. To me it's an impressive blend of both an almost child-like innocence of perception, and a mature and intuitive grasp of impressionism. I'm no D Akey so I can only hope that what I've said makes some kind of sense. At any rate, wonderful job on this W2P. :)

I like the way the mettallic effect in the water seems to catch the sunlight, like the tops of waves in the ocean. Colors and textures are very pleasing.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. It is so nice to know how other people interpret our designs isn't it? Well at least when they say nice things perhaps :)

Exactly JimWalsh!! , Beautiful! , Want2paint, a beautiful painting of the sun glinting off the water!!!

My first ever real-life canvas - painted using Acrylics and some glitter which I think I should have left out really - I'm not sure whether I should do any more to it, except to add some 'orange' to the sun perhaps and a few seashells and pebbles (with some texture like the sun maybe). Maybe less is better?
The photo is not very good at capturing the details very well though.

very cool how you used artrage to get the general idea and then reinterpreted it in natural media. both are lovely. :D

Thank you gzairborne. Another great thing with the Artrage programme is that I can now experiment on my real-life painting via ArtRage before I get the paint back out. 8)

I added some details to the foreground and painted over the sun - much of the glitter has gone now. I was going to add some large sea-shells to the pic but perhaps I'll leave it as it is -maybe less is more. I was going to try to sell this in a fete recently which was held to raise money for the Libyan Humanitarian Relief Association but one of my sons wouldn't let me.

That's beautiful! I really like how it turned out. And what a great cause...I'm so glad you shared this with us! :)
