Hello fellow ArtRage users,

I've never really tried anything with landscapes, but I wanted to start to get into it a bit more. Since I viewed this as a learning experience, I just picked a random picture I found online for a reference (which I followed loosely). I picked a sort of monotone image, so I could practice at getting my layout right without having to worry to much about an abundance of colors. I pretty happy with how it came out, but I always welcome criticism so I thought I'd post it here rather then in the gallery.

Thanks for checking it out 8)

I really like the atmospheric quality. A beauty.
I really like the compositional division and shapes of the shapes of the composition I know I could have said that better... but you know what I mean. :D

Cold, quiet, serene. Not a place to be when the wind comes up for sure. Nicely done. :)

I like it very much! It sort of conjures up where I live in mid-winter.

First I want to say I love the silhouette in the foreground of the vista. That really works well compositionally. If I had one change to suggest it would be to push the light breaking through the clouds over the mountains brighter and let the fog on the land below darken a bit to separate the two. The monochromatic palette works well to set your mood. Nice work.
