View Full Version : First Hello with a first ArtRage 2.5 render

Hello fellow Artisans.
I've had a great day using ArtRage2.5 on the Mac.
Last night I had a great evening of painting with ArtRage2.5 on the PC.
Elegant on both platforms. Kudos to the Ambient team.

I'm a veteran digital artist working as an Art Director 9-6 and Freelancer after hours. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Quark are the staple during 9-6. I'm heavy into 3D and crosssofts like ZBrush after 6.

I am adding ArtRage to the list at both desks. GREAT tactile satisfaction with this Soft. It's added a lovely dimension to my Wacom experience.

I LOVE software supporting forums and people inside them. After nosing around it's clear you all are great supporters of ArtRage and each other.

I am excited to step into your house, I'll do my best to be a good guest.

My first ArtRage Render. I shall call it "SandBox"

That's an incredibly beautiful graphic image. It just screams for a tutorial on the stages you used during the process. Wonderful work!

As I suspected, a warm bunch all of you.
Thank you for such kind attention.

This piece was simply a reason to dig into ArtRage and discover it's mechanics. I love color, I love spiders, insects and reptiles, and I very much adore textures of old buildings, paint and the like.

The whole piece started with the obvious stencil and a high resolution photo of a peeling painted wall.

It took about 5 hours total.

I'll put together a full tutorial and the origianal ArtRage file into a .zip file for downloading if this would be interesting to anyone.

I'm currently working on a painterly piece so that I can calibrate my wacom with the tools of ArtRage.

Thanks again for being to welcoming! I already feel at home.

Nice graphic. Good and crisp. If you put it in there, it's well resolved.

If Black Widows can have their hourglasses, these little rascals can certainly have their rectangles.

Makes me feel weird and drawn in all at once.

I'm impressed. The surface looks three dimensional which always impresses me. Do you paint traditional as well?
Thank you ubuntu.

Yes, I attended art college WAY before computers...
not to say I'm ancient...
And not to say...WAY WAY before, just a bit before...
but I do predate the CPU.

I'm finishing up a painterly piece this week, and hope to share it over the weekend.

I hope to add to the commuity value with walk-throughs, and a solid set of tools from these two pieces.
