That’s interesting, though very annoying for you
How are you getting the Stickers onto the canvas when the UI disappears?
1: By “Pealing” them off onto the canvas.
2: A single left click on the Sticker.
With method 1 above, the UI always disappears after pealing the sticker off it’s “backing” until it is released where you want the Sticker to be on the canvas. But the UI dose always return.
With method 2 the UI never vanishes but one has no control over where the Sticker is placed. (Though curiously they always end up in the upper right quarter of the canvas)
With either method the UI always comes back for me on my Mac, so perhaps it’s an OS specific thing that you are seeing?

Thanks for that info ... but can't say for sure how I placed on canvas.

Was not aware there were 2 ways.

    Will check it out tomorrow.

    Thanks.

Hi dannac, OK confession time, I should have checked with you first which version of AR you are using, oops!
As looking closer at your screenshot this morning your AR icon suggests you are on AR6 or lower and not AR Vitae.
So I retested this again in older versions of AR and actually I do see the same bug as you but only in AR6.
As AR6 is now a legacy product I doubt this bug will be corrected in it going forwards as it is only being maintained now for OS compatibility I believe.

Interestingly in testing this again I did notice a change in how Stickers are applied from v4.5 where you could resize them after tearing them off as well as positioning them.
Think I might ask Andy about that and see if that functionality can be added back to ARV.

On a related note, see the following thread about getting AR’s UI back to how you want it if it gets messed up and you don't want to start dragging panels around again to fix it!

First ... thanks for the extra info and link on how to save UI layout.

Using AR6 and the wierd behavior is with your option 1. from above.
It also happens on my Win 7 desktop which I’m on this morning. ( yesterday was Win 10 laptop )
Option 2. works fine and causes no wierd behavior.

From your info I gather you can keep different versions on your computer.

If so, I may re-install version 5 to see if the problem persist.

Does your AR Vitae have the sticker sheet problem as AR 6 ?

Yes, I’ve still got all the past versions of AR that will run on this machine installed!
And they all work without interfering with each other.
So yes, you should be able to reinstall v5 again.
    AR5 and 6 used/use a common support folder, on Macs it’s found here: /Users/user_name_here/Library/Application Support/Ambient Design
Meaning both apps have access to the same Content folder that's found within those supporting folders.

For me the permanently disappearing UI panels bug only happens in AR6.

Just to update ... AR5 did not have the same sticker problem on either computer.

.... and your UI tip VERY useful.

    Thanks
