    I now know pretty well and like this subject and how Your interopreting it! You're making a great piece out of this reference and this style remind also some other mates experiment with stained glass.

    Thanks Caesar. The biggest problem with it is, in my mind, that it's neither one thing nor the other. Not watercolour, not stained glass, not ... As we say in New Zealand it can't make up its mind whether it's Arthur or Martha!

    I think probably I'll let it rest for a while.

    Brett, I don't see any problem with it remaining a kind of hybrid!

    Could I ask how you achieved the background because it just so happens that's exactly what I would like for a portrait on which I'm working? I have something very close to yours (I was quite shocked when I looked at your painting!) right now but it's not quite there. I used a combination of watercolour washes and some heavy bleeding with my own texture for the working surface.
