Rivers - The Mother of Life

    Hi,

Just a quick painting of life around rivers, how we all need water.

I picked this scene for it reminds me of when little growing up watching people washed clothes in rivers. Clothes included silk which it surprises me so much that in many countries in the West recommend dry cleaning.

In the old days, everyone washed silk in river or at home by hand, cold water, mild soap and hung dry away from strong sunlight.

I use a lot of Chinese, Indian, Thai and Burmese silk which is better quality now than they ever were and all are hand wash.

Well, not much story this time, any advice and comments are welcome.

Beautiful Jasmine. This reminds me of a dear friend of mine. She looks so much like the woman in the picture. She is Japanese and so beautiful inside as well as on the outside.

Another interesting documentary of Eastern Asia lifestyle!
The laundry/ swimming scene illustration is so lively and spontaneous!
As an information about silk washing, I don't know much about other western countries, but in Italy (where we have silk renowned of the highest quality we learned to produce after stealing silkworms and techniques many centuries ago importing such tissue in Europe too) we either handwash or use the washer at no more than 30 degrees (Celsius).
    Panta rei (everything flows)!
