Hi all,
thank you for following this thread.
I like to see your mood with these paintings.
Pai, how do you do to mix the colors ? when I use the knife, It's not as smooth as your paintings... do you use a lot of diluant ?

I don't know if this is abstract but it's something.
Hi Cannelle, mostly I will select the same range of color (i think call same scale) and use the edge palette knife with very low pressure and then mostly blend with soft palette knife.
There are lots of tutorials in this Tips and Tricks. Here are just few ones that related to blending. You may want to try out. Hope it helps.

I like these alot Pai! The first one, I could imagine as a HUGE painting, maybe 6 feet by 12 feet--that would be very cool.
I like those burnt edges on the 2nd, and the mysterious feel of the piece.
As always, great work you do!
Thanks Rob for the nice words. :) Most of the time when I paint, I picture the painting on a very very large canvas..ha..ha. I am happy you can view that too. I also like the last one too. It's kind of illusion feel to me like your "party worm".

I love so many of these. Vasilinko Artrage should use your painting for their Logo, I think it is great for that, Gzairborne I loved looking at yours, and Pai,
only you could make me sit and stare at an egg ( or maybe it is a stone-it doesn't matter)! All the rest, I loved all of them.
Vasilenko
01-07-2009, 06:26 PM
Gzairborne, beautiful abstracts! Pai, your sense of paint mixing and the egg form is superb!
My Art. painting, if the ArtRage team want it, for logo, online banner or whatever, I give it to them, even have file with no signature and no writing on it, so it's possible to change the font or add the writing. I'm glad you like it. :)
And it's just a joy to see all the abstracts in this thread, so many colors, styles and concepts or no concept at all but you can feel the movement and the colors, shapes... it's a great inspiration.
Thanks Rob and Vasilenko. :) Wonder what will come out from that egg.....
....maybe the egg came from here...an abstract land..that will start the living life..

Wow, there are so many fantastic abstracts in this thread!
Emoc, I was just curious what you were using in your painting to create such an awesome flame-like effect, an airbrush perhaps? Whatever you used, I loved it.

Need to express your self with shapes and colors ? this thread is for you ;)
I start with this colorful piece.
I like to paint and not knowing where it will go.
I just started painting lines on the canvas and this is what I wound up with .......

Dear Mary, both beautiful lines and colors, but just have to ask,,, how in the world did you get that one to animate?, so very cool!!!! good job!:)

Dear Mary, both beautiful lines and colors, but just have to ask,,, how in the world did you get that one to animate?, so very cool!!!! good job!:)
thanks, Lee :) as for animating, first I saved the projects in stages, almost every time I would add a stick, I'd save it as a jpeg...then I just put all the jpegs in a gif converter program....you could also put the jpegs in a movie program, any movie program would work if you don't have a program that converts to gif file format (for example, 'windows movie maker, or avs video) ,,,..but movies are usully quite larger end files than gifs, much larger...if you have photo story 3, that's a good gif converter, and you can add music to it and special effects,,ps3 lets you save in movie format or gif...it lets you 'batch' select your files so you don't have to import them one at a time, ..(just click 'shift' after you select the first jpeg)..that's a big plus,,I used about 25 jpegs for that one little animation........ps3 usually comes with your pc, as a windows application...but if you don't have ps3, just go online n do a search for 'gif converter'..you'll get lots of results........you can also animate jpegs in most 3D programs,n they usually let you save in gif.
maybe we can talk Tycho into adding a 'animation timeline' and 'gif converter' plug-in to ArtRage2 ? ;) then we could animate our images while we're in AR2...wouldn't that be great ? :):):):):):):):):):):):):)
maybe they could put a timeline in the next version (ArtRage3 ?) would be glad to pay for the upgrade.:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
Dear Mary, thank you so much for the information!!! so easy to understand too!! the outcome was beautiful, don't think any post like that here yet,,, good job,, will look for the gif programs out there and YES!!! Tycho ceartainly has inside influence, an AR gif program would be super!!!!:):):)

would I be cheating if I said 'rage' (considering it's in the title, lol) seriously the first thought I percieved from it was 'anger', disgruntlement', etc.....love the colors....
